You are invited to the inaugural Advising Community Conversations workshop series. These conversations will be regular hour long opportunities to connect with your JMU advising colleagues. This session's topic will be exploring Canvas as an advising tool. Come ready to discuss your needs as an advisor and explore ways in which Canvas can be used to support your advising practice. Each advisor will leave with a plan to either begin using or better use Canvas to support students.

Note: This is a virtual meeting, so participants can work in Canvas during the session.

Hosted by the Advising Resource and Collaboration Network @ JMU with support from University Advising, Academic Advising Board and JMU Libraries

Participants will make progress towards

  • developing awareness of the advising resources and collaboration network
  • experiencing multiple ways in which Canvas can be used as an advising tool
  • creating a plan to begin using or better use Canvas to support your advising practice
  • sharing your own experiences and advising strategies and discussing needs of JMU advisors
