Description:
Thank you for your interest in this program! The sign-up is full. Those on the waitlist will be queued with hopeful withdrawals. We are also working on future programming like this.
Mentimeter is focused on audience engagement. This application allows users to create presentations with built-in interactive polls, quizzes, word clouds, and more. These presentations can be created for in-person or online formats as well as either synchronous or asynchronous learning. One of the benefits of this tool is that it can be used with large classes or small groups and it has the potential to incorporate social-emotional learning.
This community of practices from various disciplines will create interactive presentations for their respective courses and exchange discoveries. The JMU libraries welcome you to join our faculty community of practice to create content for your classes and collectively evaluate Mentimeter for teaching and learning this Spring semester.
Objectives:
- Investigate Mentimeter integration within a course.
- Evaluate faculty perceptions of creating, and using, Mentimeter, from various disciplinary areas.
- Evaluate the effect of social-emotional learning with Mentimeter.
Meeting time:
11:30am -12:30pm EST
Meeting Dates:
2nd Monday of the month, on the following days:
Feb 7, March 7, April 4, and May 2; 4 meetings total.
