Description

Introduce yourself to the world of electronics by creating a simple circuit and controlling it with an Arduino Leonardo.

Participants will have an Electronics 101 kit reserved in their name. When you receive an email letting you know your kit is ready, you may go to the front desk of Carrier Library and ask for an Electronics 101 kit that was checked out in your name. Please be sure to return the kit to the library by the time it is due so that we can guarantee there will be kits available for the next workshop.

The kit contains all the required materials listed below.

  1. x2 jumper cables
  2. x1 Arduino Leonardo
  3. x1 220 ohm resistor
  4. x1 2 legged LED
  5. x1 breadboard
  6. x1 USB to micro USB cable

You will also need to download and install the Arduino IDE, found here. Please make sure that the IDE is up and running on your computer at the time the workshop starts and that you are in an environment where you can keep your microphone unmuted.

This workshop has been adapted for an online setting and is presented by The Makery at JMU Libraries.
