Description

Open textbooks can help alleviate the burden of textbook costs for students and provide faculty with fully-customizable course materials. This asynchronous online workshop will introduce you to open textbooks and allow you to explore existing open textbooks available for use in your courses. After this workshop is completed, you will be eligible to write a review of an open textbook and receive a $200 stipend. The stipend is funded by VIVA, Virginia's Academic Library Consortium.

Objectives

At the completion of this workshop, participants will:

  • Understand barriers to student success,
  • Identify ways to evaluate quality course materials

Dates

This asynchronous online workshop can be completed any time between May 18, 2020 and June 30, 2020. It will take approximately 90 minutes to complete.
