Description
JMU faculty members are invited to participate in the JMU Libraries Institute for Online Learning, hosted by JMU Libraries.
This self-paced institute will be customized to meet individual faculty needs.
Faculty who participate in the institute will be supported by experts, peers, and mentors as they develop or redesign an online course incorporating learning theory, instructional design principles, interactive teaching strategies, online learning assessment, and learning technologies. By the end of the institute, the course that faculty develop or redesign will include an online course structure, syllabus, learning content, and activities.
The institute will be facilitated through a blend of asynchronous and synchronous online activities. Faculty should plan to spend approximately 10 to 15 hours synchronously participating in the institute. Additionally, participants may choose to connect with institute instructors, faculty mentors and colleagues for additional consultation regarding online course development and teaching strategies.
