Come learn how to use the Canvas discussion board tool to engage students in asynchronous discussions about course content and more. In this workshop, instructors will learn best practice strategies for effectively utilizing asynchonous discussion in online classes. You will leave this workshop feeling confident and ready to use discussion boards in your online classes.

• Understand when and how to use discussion boards
• Identify best practices for participation
• Learn how to to set up and respond to discussion board topics, create posting deadlines, use video/voice response options, split students into small groups, and how to grade posts.
