"Music Faces, Places, and Styles" Opening Reception

JMU's The little Gallery Underground is featuring the exhibit “Music faces, places, and styles” by Greg Versen, aka “Professah Blues”. Versen is the well-known creator and host of “Blues Valley” which brings the valley the best in blues every Saturday night on the local NPR station, WMRA. In his award-winning photographs, Versen captures the faces and the spirit of mostly blues musicians including BB King as well as a few street musicians. The little Gallery Underground is located in the Music Building basement at JMU on Main St. across from the Forbes Center.

Greg Versen was born and reared in Vicksburg, MS. He served as Captain in the Army Medical Services Corps and then taught in the Bachelor of Social Work programs at Mississippi University for Women and then at JMU, where he taught for 25 years. He currently resides in Harrisonburg, Va.
