In this session, we will dive into Social Explorer, a web-based map generation tool free to JMU users. Learn how you can use Social Explorer to visualize demographic data, promote the examination of diversity, and encourage global learning by uncovering patterns in the numbers.

Objectives

  • Create interactive maps and generate custom data tables to export using current or historical census surveys
  • Discover how graphics from Social Explorer can be used as a colorful resource for lectures, course packs, online classes, and more
  • Evaluate Social Explorer’s potential as a powerful asset for research and presentations
