Description
AAC&U* identifies Service-Learning, a form of Community Engagement, as a high impact practice because learning outcomes are achieved through integrating curriculum with community application and intentional reflection. Join members of the Community Service-Learning office, other faculty (both those experienced in Service-Learning and those just interested in getting started), and experienced instructional designers in exploring innovative approaches and technologies to design meaningful Community Engagement opportunities and learning activities. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about examples and stories of successful Community Engagement experiences, generate and discuss ideas with colleagues, apply specific preparation and reflection models and strategies to their own classrooms to prepare students for those experiences, and develop effective reflection and application activities.
