Description

Do you want to learn to knit? Do you want to collaborate with others to create something special for a local refugee family?

Come to this learn-to-knit workshop where each participant will create an 8-inch knitted square. At the end of the workshop, the squares will be knit together to form a beautiful blanket that will be donated to a local refugee family as a gesture of welcome to our community.

All materials will be provided and each participant will have the option of signing a welcome card that will be given with the blanket.

Objectives

  • Learn to cast on
  • Learn the basic knit stitch
  • Learn to bind off
  • Contribute to a blanket that will be donated

This workshop is a collaboration between the Rose Makery and JMU Unwind, the JMU Faculty and Staff knitting affinity group.
