Enhancing Course Accessibility Using Ally
Event box
Discover how Anthology Ally, our accessibility checker integrated into Canvas, can help you create more inclusive and accessible courses. Ally helps instructors identify course materials that need improvement and provides students with alternative file formats (e.g., audio, ePub, HTML) based on their needs. See how Ally supports JMU’s digital accessibility goals and serves as one of the ways we can help you prepare to meet JMU's April 24, 2026 goal for meeting updated Title II requirements.
In this information session, you'll:
- Explore Ally's core features and how they support inclusive teaching practices
- Learn how to enhance the accessibility of your course materials with Ally
- Discover the various resources JMU provides to support accessibility.
- Practice using Ally's feedback to fix common issues (e.g. scanned PDFs, missing alt text).
