Title II and You: Digital Accessibility Changes Coming to JMU
Event box

JMU will soon change how we create and share content, including websites, videos, course materials, and more. This is due to recent updates to Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Virginia’s Information Technology Access Act.
If your JMU work includes creating or managing any digital or online content, this session is for you. Most digital or online content will need to meet basic digital accessibility standards by April 24, 2026.
Join experts from across campus to learn what these updates to federal and state requirements mean for our work and how you and your department can prepare. You’ll get practical tips and insights into how we can help you meet JMU’s digital accessibility goals.
Let’s make JMU’s digital spaces more inclusive together.
Session objectives:
-
Understand the basics of what these updates to federal and state requirements mean for digital content at JMU
-
Discover the JMU support and resources available to help you prepare for these changes
-

John Stevens (JMU IT), Christina Wulf (JMU ODS), Leigh Ayers (JMU Digital Marketing), Ivan Guadarrama (JMU Libraries), Rob Morgan (JMU IT), and Jojo Griffith (JMU Talent Development)
