Join this hands-on workshop designed to equip JMU educators with the skills and resources you need to create engaging courses in Canvas. Learn how to get the most out of Canvas, by using applications such as Canvas Studio, Zoom, Microsoft 365, and other powerful tools. Get an overview of essential Canvas features, including Modules, Pages, and Discussions, as well as assessments through Assignments and Quizzes.
This workshop is open to all JMU faculty and staff members, but will be particularly helpful for new faculty/staff or those transitioning to fully online instruction.
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
- identify essential Canvas functionalities for teaching
- describe strategies for optimal use of Canvas in teaching
- connect your teaching needs with resources available from JMU Libraries
This is a hybrid workshop, offered both on Zoom and in Rose Library room 3311. If you attend in person, please bring a laptop for hands-on training.
