A Better Way to Manage Your Research: Open Science Framework (OSF) at JMU
Event box
The Open Science Framework (OSF) is a free and open-source project management tool that supports researchers throughout the entire research lifecycle. It's for any discipline -- not just the sciences!
Join this workshop to get an introduction to OSF's capabilities, including the process of creating accounts, organizing projects, sharing data or preprints, and more. Learn how OSF can enhance research transparency, improve data management, and support open access. Practical examples of OSF projects will highlight the platform’s applications for data-focused research, collaboration, and reproducibility.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Create an OSF account and set up projects to manage various research materials, including data.
- Register studies and pre-register research plans to enhance research integrity and reproducibility.
- Organize and share files—such as datasets, analysis code, and documentation—within OSF projects.
- Utilize preprints to make research findings openly accessible.
- Describe how the Open Science Framework (OSF) supports research organization, collaboration, and transparency.
