Sewing 101

Walk through a simple sewing project using the sewing machines at the The Makery in Rose Library. You'll learn how to use our Bernina sewing machines, how to plan a project, and how to use some of the available accessories. This is an excellent workshop for someone who is new to sewing or looking for a refresher on some of the foundations.

We supply all of the materials for this project. All you need to bring is enthusiasm for sewing!

Do these workshop times not work for you? No problem! Make an appointment that suits your schedule.

In this workshop, you'll learn to:

  • Learn how to cut, iron, pin fabric, and sew simple seams

  • Explore the basic functions of the sewing machines and familiarize yourself with its operation

  • Complete a sewing project
