Welcome to our hands-on workshop designed to empower JMU educators with essential skills and resources to build dynamic and integrated courses on Canvas.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to maximize Canvas’s potential with various applications such as Canvas Studio, Zoom, Microsoft 365, and other powerful tools. You’ll also get an overview of essential Canvas features, including Modules, Pages, Discussions, and assessments with Assignments and Quizzes. Join us to learn practical strategies for creating an engaging virtual learning environment.
By the end of this hybrid workshop, you'll be able to:
- Identify essential Canvas functionalities for teaching
- Describe strategies for the optimal use of Canvas in teaching
- Connect teaching needs with Canvas-related resources from JMU Libraries
While this workshop is open to any JMU faculty or staff members, it will be especially helpful for new faculty/staff or those who are transitioning to fully online instruction.

How to Join the Worshop
This is a hybrid workshop. You can attend on Zoom or in room 5211 in Rose Library. You will receive a Zoom meeting link and password in the automated registration and reminder emails. The email will come from LibCal.
