SUMMARY:Get Started Using Open Textbooks
DESCRIPTION:Instructor\n\nLiz Thompson\n\nDescription\n\n\n\nOpen textbooks 
 can help alleviate the burden of textbook costs for students and provide 
 faculty with fully-customizable course materials. Instructors can tailor 
 open textbooks to specific learning outcomes and to inclusion and equity 
 goals. This asynchronous online workshop will introduce you to open 
 textbooks and allow you to explore existing open textbooks available for 
 use in your courses. \n\nAfter this workshop is completed\, you will be 
 eligible to write a review of an open textbook and receive a $200 stipend.  
 The stipend is funded by VIVA\, Virginia's Academic Library 
 Consortium.\n\n\n\n\n\nObjectives\n\nAt the completion of this workshop\, 
 participants will:\n\n\n	Understand barriers to student success\n	Identify 
 priorities for evaluating quality course materials\n\n\nDates\n\n\n\nThis 
 asynchronous online workshop can be completed any time between January 18\, 
 2022 and March 21\, 2022. \n\nIt will take approximately 90 minutes to 
 complete.\n\n\n\nApplication\n\nApplications will be accepted now through 
 Friday\, March 11\, 2022 and applicants should expect a response within a 
 week of submission.\nReviews will be due Monday\, May 16\, 2022\n\nApply
