SUMMARY:Art Exhibit Reception: Graphic Scores and Beyond the Fourth Wall
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exhibit opening reception for a new 
 double-feature exhibit in the JMU Music Library!\n\n"Beyond the Fourth 
 Wall" is a three-dimensional art exhibit featuring the artwork of Karis 
 Buchanan\, in partial fulfillment of the Bachelor of Arts degree. The 
 exhibit focuses on applying the theatrical concept of the fourth wall to 
 instrumental music performances. The art pieces explore how the 
 relationship between audience and performer is affected by the fourth 
 wall\, as well as whether or not the fourth wall can ever truly be broken 
 in an instrumental performance. \n\n"Graphic Scores" is a collection of 
 scores that are visually and aurally stimulating. The authors of the scores 
 are JMU Music Faculty members Casey Cangelosi\, Eric Guinivan\, and Judith 
 Ofcarcik. This exhibit includes audio and an interactive piece.\n\nAll are 
 welcome at this event! \n\n
