Description

Do you need help organizing your academic digital life? Gain awareness of the different free and paid-for cloud services available for faculty and students such as Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and Apple iCloud. This session will also demonstrate tips and tricks for collaborating with colleagues and students including how to tag, organize, and save your files so that they are available on all of the your devices. Attention will also be given to privacy and security of files supported by the various cloud services.

Objectives

  • Participants will be able to identify the various cloud services and gain awareness of the cost and affordance provided by each.
  • Participants will create and inventory of their own cloud services.
  • Participants will engage with the cloud services using suggested tips and tricks to manage their files.
  • Participants will reflect on the the privacy and security provided by the service that they use with colleagues and students.
