Description

Do you need help organizing your academic digital life? Along with gaining an awareness of the different free and fee based cloud services available to faculty such as Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and Apple iCloud, this session will also demonstrate tips and tricks for collaborating with colleagues or students including how to tag, organize, and save you files so that they are available on all of your devices and easier to find. Attention will also be given as to how and when you might want to use each service depending on your instructional or research driven objectives.

Objectives

  • Gain awareness of a variety of cloud services including cost and storage capabilities
  • Locate personal cloud accounts and explore organizational tools such as tagging and organizational structure
  • Discuss the pros and cons of the different cloud services in terms of usage and collaboration including privacy concerns
