Description

Need a creative recharge? Want to learn by doing? Create your own graphic novel. During this five-day institute, you will learn and work with narrative techniques, scripting and sequencing, page composition, character development, and other comic techniques with the goal of producing the first draft of your graphic novel using Comic Life. This institute is equally valuable to writers and illustrators. No Prior experience needed. Attendees will receive their own printed comic up to 10 pages and a comic design textbook.

Objectives

  • Create a ten page draft of a graphic novel, ready for printing.
  • Learn how to script a graphic novel with the help of lectures and feedback from your peers and workshop leaders.
  • Learn how to develop characters, both descriptive and visual, within a storyline.
  • Learn how to implement comic-specific techniques such as speech bubbles to create the graphic novel.
